New York City Apartments

Learn more about living in our New York City apartments

Most people associate New York City with the bright lights of Broadway and well-known Big Apple landmarks, and while they’re certainly correct, there’s plenty more to do in NYC than join the crowds in Times Square and soak up the sun in Central Park (although these are highly recommended spots that shouldn’t be missed). There are almost too many neighborhoods to count - there’s a total of 43 in Midtown and Downtown NYC alone, which doesn’t include any smaller sub-neighborhoods that have taken on a unique personality and created smaller neighborhood associations - so it can be difficult to choose which borough, neighborhood or even street will give you the convenience and NYC vibe right for you when looking for New York City apartments.

New York City’s nearby rivers played a large part in the city’s history and development, and thanks to its convenient location to the waterways, NYC has grown rapidly since the late 17th century. Today, it boasts more than 8 million residents in its five boroughs (Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island) and hosts more than 50 million visitors annually - a major feat for any city. But because more people are moving into the city than moving out, real estate is always an important consideration, especially when the estimated more than 2.5 million New York City apartments all come with unique amenities based on which borough and neighborhood they are located in.

So what do NYC locals like to do around town, anyway? Well, that all depends on where their New York City apartments are located. Manhattan residents in the four primary sections of the island (Uptown, Midtown, Downtown and the in-between areas near Midtown and Downtown) are scattered among the city’s many neighborhoods and sub-neighborhoods, and that doesn’t count NYC’s other four boroughs! Uptown Manhattan is the area above 59th Street, including the Upper West and East sides, Carnegie Hill and Spanish Harlem, reaching as far north as Upper Manhattan; Midtown Manhattan is located between 34th and 59th streets, including the Theater District, Koreatown, Madison Square and Garment District; Downtown, which is below 14th Street and includes Alphabet City, SoHo, Financial District, Tribeca and West Village; and the area between Midtown and Downtown, including Chelsea, the Flatiron District, Gramercy Park and Meatpacking District. NYC’s other boroughs all come complete with their own regions and neighborhoods, giving hopeful residents that many more options to live, work and play.

Thankfully, no matter where New York City apartments and neighborhoods are located, there’s always a way to get around the city. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) shuttles more than 15 million people around NYC, Long Island, New York State and even Connecticut, making a whopping 2.7 billion trips annually. And while the city’s 468 train stations are convenient, there’s no more efficient way than traveling around Manhattan than on the city’s 26 subway lines, all of which serve even the furthest corners of the city and take riders into the other boroughs and beyond.

When convenience is key, from the city’s walkability to quintessential experiences and world-famous culture, look no further than New York City apartments and its iconic skyline views. There’s truly no such being bored in the Big Apple!
